After college, Nick stayed local, working for a Geotechnical Drilling company for 6 years before stumbling into commercial fishing. Working his way from deckhand to captain on the Puget Sound in the commercial Geoduck Fleet, Nick learned the ins and outs of the industry. Working all the way up to fleet manager before making a trip to Southeast Alaska to harvest geoduck, sea urchins and sea cucumbers. It was there that Nick met Cody Mills, President and CEO of Alaska Ice Seafoods. Shortly after, in 2017, Nick officially joined the Alaska Ice / Fathom Seafood team to help build the Dungeness Crab portion of the business into what it is today. Tasked with finding the Dungeness Crab supply, Nick, built relationships and was able to build a good foundation with fishermen from California to Washington. Today, Nick operates as the Head Seafood Buyer, assisting with sales and business development as well. Nick describes a good day at work as any day walking the docks and seeing happy fishermen and lots of crab. When he’s not working, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and son, traveling, spending time with friends and family, watching Seahawks football and the occasional back yard BBQ.
