Meet the buyers Pt. 1 - Chris R.

Dungeness Crab requires more than just fishermen. It is a complicated network of fishermen, dock workers, buyers, truck drivers, packers, distributors and more. This is Chris. He buys the Dungeness Crab. Without his help the entire supply chain would not work. If you see him at the docks, be sure to thank him for a job well done! Here is a his biography.

Chris Randon

Graduating from Clover Park High School in Lakewood, WA in 2004, Chris has stayed local. After spending time working in the restaurant industry for a few years Chris joined Fathom Seafood as part of the warehouse plant staff in early 2020, gaining experience with crab handling and the logistical side of the business. Chris really cut his teeth packing countless boxes of geoduck and Dungeness crab, and rubber banding tote after tote of crab. Taking advantage of opportunity, when asked to go along on a crab pickup for a tribal opener and his outgoing and engaging personality meshed perfectly with the friendly banter of the fishermen and the rest is history – he’s been buying crab ever since. Chris describes a good day at work as a long drive to the dock and picking up crab – He’s definitely in the right spot.
